# Normani’s Journey: From Fifth Harmony Heartbreak to Solo Stardom
Normani Hamilton, the R&B sensation, has captivated fans with her viral video spilling tea on her career struggles, racism, and triumphs. From Fifth Harmony’s drama to solo hits and family battles, her story is one of resilience.
Born in Atlanta in 1996, Normani relocated to New Orleans, then Houston after Hurricane Katrina. A pageant queen and rejected arts school student, she auditioned for X Factor at 15, singing Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools.” Eliminated early, she was pulled back to form Fifth Harmony with Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui.
